The Delivery team at RISING have a number of short term contracts to fill across the 2025 program. We are looking for enthusiastic, organised and experienced people to fill these maximum term contracts, working with project staff, venues and stakeholders to help deliver the festival. 


DELIVERY TEAM - EOI

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced crew to join our casual team to help build, operate and deliver this year’s festival. The bulk of the work will be from around 20 May through to 22 June, with some limited work being available outside this window. 

We have roles across the entire program, so if you love a rig, driving trucks is your thing, you love to manage a stage, and/or you love being part of a crew please tell us a bit about yourself!

CASUAL - CREW 

We're building a team of casual workers to act as the face of the festival for 2025. With the announcement of Swingers: The Art of Mini Golf at Flinders Street Station lasting until the end of August, we are pleased to be hiring our Front of House team for a significantly longer period beyond the festival dates. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals who love a queue, answering a curly question and creating a memorable experience for festival patrons. 

Available positions span all RISING-managed venues and include roles such as front of house, exhibition invigilators, bar work, access support, and team supervisors.

__Q. What is RISING?__   
A. RISING is Victoria's flagship festival of new art, music, performance held in June each year in the heart of Naarm/Melbourne.   

__Q. I’m not sure if RISING is for me. What kind of events will be in the program?__   
A. RISING is for everyone. From visual art, performance and public art installations to live music and parties, we have all kinds of experiences for you to enjoy whatever you’re into.  

__Q. Who is curating the festival?__   
A. Hannah Fox and Gideon Obarzanek are RISING’s co-Artistic Directors and Chief Executives. They lead a diverse team of national and international arts professionals in programming the festival including Senior Curators Kimberley Moulton and Grace Herbert, Head of Music Hayley Percy and Melbourne Art Trams Curator Jarra Karalinar Steel.

- We’re approaching our food and beverage offerings as an opportunity to showcase sustainable practice–sustainable farming, fresh, fair and seasonal paddock-to-plate menus, ethically-sourced ingredients always, and minimising single-use plastic in service
- We’re getting wise with merchandise and uniforms, selling useful, reusable, items and thinking circularity when it comes to festival attire. We’re seeking ethically sourced and manufactured products made from durable and sustainable materials
- We’re measuring our carbon footprint to analyse our impact, create a baseline of Greenhouse Gas emission boundaries and set goals for reductions and improvements
- We’re looking into carbon balancing projects to give back to our planet; to restore and regenerate as we rise

If you plan to cycle to ACMI, you can lock your bike to purpose-built bicycle racks installed around the perimeter of Fed Square, but you’ll need to bring your own lock. You can’t bring your bike into ACMI itself.

The Flinders Street entrance is easily accessible via a wheelchair ramp. This entrance is closed outside museum opening times. To access ACMI outside these hours, enter via the Fed Square Entrance.

The Fed Square entrance is located in the heart of Fed Square plaza, between Chocolate Buddha and Beer Deluxe. Please be aware that the Fed Square plaza is cobblestoned and may be difficult to navigate for visitors using mobility aids.

To get to the Fed Square entrance from the Flinders Street entrance, you can use the lifts near the end of The Atrium – to the left of Beer Deluxe – to get to the Fed Square plaza level.

LIFTS

A series of lifts (or elevators) offer access to all levels of ACMI.

- __Ground floor – Level 1 access only.__ The Ground floor lift is located between Tickets & Information desk and the entrance to The Story of the Moving Image exhibition.
- __Ground – Level 1 & 2 access.__ This Ground Floor lift is located behind the stairs opposite the bathrooms. You can access it by continuing down the corridor between Tickets & Information desk and the entrance to The Story of the Moving Image exhibition. This lift grants you access to levels 1 and 2.
- __Ground floor – Basement Gallery 4 access.__ A goods lift that allows access to the Underground Gallery 4 is located behind Gallery 2 and 4, via a corridor. Only in use when an exhibition is on view in Gallery 4.
- __Level 1 – Cinemas access.__ here are two lifts located on Level 1. As you enter from Fed Square, one is around the corner on your right, as you pass the Tickets & Information desk and approach the stairs. If you make a hard right towards Hero at ACMI and the Level 1 toilets, you will see the lift. This is the best lift option to reach the Cinemas level (Level 2).
- __Level 1 – Galleries access.__ As you enter from Fed Square, walk past the wall of screens and seating area in front of the wall of cabinets on your left, the lift is located opposite the seating area. This lift provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level. 
- __Level 2 – Level 1 access.__ The Level 2 Lift services the cinemas. It goes down to Level 1, where you will find the restaurant and bar, Hero at ACMI; and the Labs Level. This lift also provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS

Toilets are located on Ground floor and Level 1. ACMI has wheelchair accessible toilets on both floors.

Baby change facilities are available near the toilets at the Flinders St (Ground floor) and Fed Square (Level 1) entrances.

COMPANION CARDS

Companion Cards, registered in Victoria and interstate, provide the carers accompanying card holders with free access to ACMI programs.

WHEELCHAIRS

If you use a wheelchair you can access all of their spaces.

If you need to borrow a wheelchair for use inside the Museum, present your ID at the Tickets & Information Desk (located at Ground floor and Level 1 respectively) and we’ll organise one for you free of charge.

GUIDE DOGS

Guide Dogs and registered assistance animals are welcome throughout ACMI. But only registered animals. No pets, please!

HEARING LOOPS

Free hearing devices are available for use in the ACMI Cinemas and Studios and can be borrowed on presentation of ID. Visit the Tickets & Information desks on Level 1 or Ground Floor to arrange. 

The devices come with headphones or connect with hearing aids via a neck loop. You can choose what you prefer.

MOBILITY EQUIPMENT HIRE

Travellers Aid, based at Flinders Street and Southern Cross stations, provides mobility equipment hire, including manual wheelchairs and motorised scooters.

To hire equipment, visit the Travellers Aid website or call 03 9068 8187.

Pre-booked equipment can be collected at Flinders Street station (across the road from Fed Square) or Southern Cross station.

You can access it by continuing down the corridor between Tickets & Information desk and the entrance to The Story of the Moving Image exhibition. This lift grants you access to levels 1 and 2.
- __Ground floor – Basement Gallery 4 access.__ A goods lift that allows access to the Underground Gallery 4 is located behind Gallery 2 and 4, via a corridor. Only in use when an exhibition is on view in Gallery 4.
- __Level 1 – Cinemas access.__ here are two lifts located on Level 1. As you enter from Fed Square, one is around the corner on your right, as you pass the Tickets & Information desk and approach the stairs. If you make a hard right towards Hero at ACMI and the Level 1 toilets, you will see the lift. This is the best lift option to reach the Cinemas level (Level 2).
- __Level 1 – Galleries access.__ As you enter from Fed Square, walk past the wall of screens and seating area in front of the wall of cabinets on your left, the lift is located opposite the seating area. This lift provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level. 
- __Level 2 – Level 1 access.__ The Level 2 Lift services the cinemas. It goes down to Level 1, where you will find the restaurant and bar, Hero at ACMI; and the Labs Level. This lift also provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level.

Toilets are located on Ground floor and Level 1. ACMI has wheelchair accessible toilets on both floors.

ALPHA60 Chapter House

Located on the northern bank of the Yarra River between Federation Square and Melbourne Park, Birrarung Marr features a range of native flora and sculpted terraces. It is also the location for the children's arts centre, ArtPlay, and provides space for many events held throughout the year.
In Woi Wurrung and Boon Wurrung culture, 'Birrarung' is the traditional name of the Yarra River; and 'marr' refers to the mist that sometimes settles over the Birrarung. The park name reflects the ‘river of mists'.

This area was historically used for railway lines and yards from 1856. In 1992, the Victorian Government undertook a process of reorganisation of land uses around the then proposed Federation Square. This led to the reclamation of the former railyard to allow access to the river and land for public open space purposes. 

Construction of the park began in 2000 and was a joint venture between the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government. Birrarung Marr was opened in 2002. 

The park hosts a variety of native flora, sculpted terraces, pedestrian and bicycle paths and is used for numerous festivals and events throughout the year. 

The former rail use continues to be represented by the adaptation of the former Princes Bridge Lecture Room (a purpose-built railway training building constructed in 1916-17) into ArtPlay, a children’s art centre and gallery. 

At the east end of the park, the William Barak pedestrian bridge leads directly to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and the Tanderrum Bridge leads directly to the Melbourne Park tennis centre.

Birrarung Marr is an approximately 7 minute walk (600m) from Flinders Street Station, via Princes Walk and Flinder Walk, and a 10 minute walk (850m) from the MCG. THE MAIN SQUARE  

The undulating surface of the Main Square is made up of sandstone cobblestones, with a marked access path. Swanston Street offers the best access to the Main Square, and lift access is available to and from The Atrium. The Big Screen is equipped with a hearing loop and there are accessible toilets located next to Time Out Café. The Main Stage has lift access for performers, and St Paul’s Court, Swanston Street Forecourt and The Amphitheatre also have wheelchair access.

Walkers are not permitted to stay in the hall during performances, but can be used to access seats and then removed and minded by venue staff for the duration of the concert. Walkers can then be retrieved by staff upon request at interval and at the conclusion of the concert.

The Comedy Theatre can provide a ramp into one of the front doors on Exhibition Street. A member of our security or front of house staff will be able to assist you on arrival at the theatre. At the doors facing on to Exhibition Street there is a small step, which as you move away from Lonsdale Street is reduced to a small lip. Doors are usually propped open during performances. The entrance opens directly into the foyer, which is small and can become quite congested.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS

There are accessible toilets located on all foyer levels and backstage areas of the Centre. Please ask our venue staff for assistance in locating the one nearest to your seating or working location. 

EASY ACCESS SEATING AND WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

For the convenience of patrons who have restricted mobility but do not require the use of a wheelchair, Melbourne Recital Centre has identified locations within the auditorium where patrons do not need to use stairs to reach their seats. These seats are located in row U of the Stalls, row A of the Circle, and seats 11-15 of both upper wings. Accessible seating in the wings are also wider and have articulated, raising arm-rests.

Wheelchair accessible spaces are located in Stalls Row U and the Upper East Wing, all with Companion seating available. All seating and wheelchair spaces can be booked through all MRC sales channels, including through the MRC website.

__Hours:__ Monday to Sunday, 6am to midnight. 

__Fees:__ On weekdays, $12.50 for 4 hours, $25 for all day and $10 after 5pm, weekends and public holidays.  

__Payment:__ Scan your debit or credit card to enter the carpark. Upon exit, the boom gate will indicate the amount owing and pay with your debit or credit card at the gate. You cannot pay with cash at this location.
