## HOW TO BOOK

Browse the [program](https://2024.rising.melbourne/) to see our full 2024 offering online. All listings are being updated to reflect the most recent information.

The best way to book tickets is via the RISING website, simply click the BUY TICKETS button on the page of the show/event you’d like to attend.

If you’d rather book over the phone with a real-life human, call the customer service team on (03)9662 4242 between 10am and 5:30pm Mon—Fri. 

You can also email us at ticketing@rising.melbourne or chat online with the team, via the little chatbox in the bottom right-hand corner of ticketing and program pages. Please note that the team cannot accept your credit card information via email or live chat, but they can answer any questions you have and can follow up purchase enquiries via phone.  

RISING issues digital tickets, direct to your inbox. To protect our customers from scalping and to make tickets easier to locate on show day, tickets for the 2024 festival will not be issued until late May. After that point, tickets are issued immediately after booking. If you have any questions or concerns get in touch with the team via email at ticketing@rising.melbourne.

__ACCESS BOOKINGS__

__COMPANION CARDS__

RISING Accepts companion cards, they are able to be booked online. The team will email you after you've made your booking to ask for a copy of your companion card information. Contact the customer service team on (03)9662 4242 or by email us at ticketing@rising.melbourne if you have any questions or concerns. 

__AGE RESTRICTIONS__

Some RISING events are restricted to those aged 18+. Please check individual event pages for more information.

Events may have content warnings and age recommendations. This information is kept up to date on event pages.   

__AUTHORISED SELLERS__

The authorised ticket sellers for RISING are Ticketek, Ticketmaster, OzTix, Arts Centre Melbourne, Melbourne Recital Centre, Melbourne Theatre Company,  Malthouse Theatre.

## TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

Tickets are non-refundable except as required by law, in accordance with the Live Performance Australia (LPA) [Ticketing Code of Practice](https://liveperformance.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/LPA-Ticketing-Code-Industry-Code-8th-edition-FINAL.pdf).

## MAJOR EVENT DECLARATION

A major event ticketing declaration has been made under the Major Events Act 2009 (Vic) for RISING 2024, to be held in Melbourne, Victoria.

Under the Act, it is illegal for a ticket to be resold, or offered or advertised for resale, for more than 10% above the face value purchase price of the ticket, unless the seller is authorised in writing by the event organiser.

Breaching this Act can result in heavy fines up to $109,144 for an individual and $545,220 for a company. Purchasing a ticket from an unauthorised seller can result in the ticket holder being denied entry to the event.

# PRICING

As you can imagine, it’s a tricky time to be putting on a festival. RISING reserves the right to change pricing at any time and without notice.

Ticket prices for events listed on the RISING website are inclusive of GST and credit card charges.

## DYNAMIC PRICING

Any event or product sold via RISING is subject to demand-based pricing. This may see prices increase or decrease at any time during a sales period for any given event or product. These changes may occur without notice. Such alterations do not entitle you to a refund or adjustment for tickets purchased prior to revised pricing.

## FEES AND CHARGES

__Transaction Fees__

RISING charges a transaction fee of up to $6 per order. Other authorised ticket sellers may also charge a fee.

If you need a breakdown of the GST paid, you can request a tax invoice for completed bookings from ticketing@rising.melbourne

__Exchange Fees__

RISING permits exchanges between performances of the same season. A $3 per-ticket fee will be charged at the time of exchange. Exchange requests must be received more than 24 hours prior to your ticketed event.  

## ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDS COMMUNITY TICKETS  

For most of RISING's ticketed events, discounted tickets are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Select the community ticket price when purchasing tickets to these events. 
Please note that in some cases, these tickets are limited. If the ticket type is no longer visible, the allocation has exhausted.

## CONCESSIONS   

Groups entitled to concession priced tickets are:

- Full-Time Students (incl. international students)
- Children under 16 years of age
- MEAA Members
- Victorian Carer Card holders
- Government issued Health Care Card holders
- Pensioners
- Seniors Card holders

You may be asked to show your valid concession card when purchasing or collecting your tickets and/or on entering the venue. Concession prices are not applicable on all events or performances.

## MULTI PASS   

Make like Leeloo boarding a space hotel and use our Multi Pass for supreme beings. Keep an eye out for the icon to save 15% off the standard price when you book 3 or more eligible events.  

1. Select your tickets for three or more different shows
2. Finalise your booking — 15% off will apply automatically at checkout.

Please note: Discount price is limited to two tickets per show.

## REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES   

Unfortunately, it’s not possible for RISING to refund completed bookings, except as required by law or in accordance with the [LPA Ticketing Code of Conduct](https://liveperformance.com.au/resources/?type=919). 

Exchanges are possible, subject to availability and a $3 per-ticket exchange fee for tickets booked via RISING. Exchanges are only possible between performances of the same show. Please contact the customer service team at ticketing@rising.melbourne at least 24 hours prior to your booked event, with your order details, a preferred available timeslot and the approval to charge exchange fees to the card used for booking.

# GROUPS   

__GROUP BOOKINGS__

Some of our events may have a discounted group price – the size of the group required to access the price will be listed on the event page. 

For groups greater than 10 people, please submit an enquiry by emailing groups@rising.melbourne and we’ll get in touch as soon as possible. 

__SCHOOL BOOKINGS__

## GIFT VOUCHERS

Moon Units are RISING’s official currency. Vouchers are available to purchase online or over the phone and have an expiry of 3 years from date of purchase. 

Recipients can redeem Moon Units for tickets purchased via the RISING website.

## TICKET RESALE

RISING has partnered with [Tixel](https://tixel.com/au/Melbourne) to provide our customers with a safe and ethical way to re-sell their tickets if they’re no longer able to attend. 

RISING customers can use their confirmation email to list tickets for sale safely and tickets sold can be transferred to purchasers after transactions have been confirmed. We're working with Tixel on an automation which we hope will be ready really sooon! 

## WAITLISTS

RISING also utilises Tixel waitlists for sold out events, this means that keen beans are automatically first in line for any tickets being listed for resale as well as being added to our mailing list for any last minute ticket releases or new show announcements.

# TICKETING FAQs

__Q. Can I exchange my ticket if I need to change my booking?__  
A.	Exchanges are possible, subject to availability and a $3 per-ticket exchange fee. Requests must be made more than 24 hours prior to the event. For us to look into exchanging your ticket(s), [email us](mailto:ticketing@rising.melbourne) with the following:  
- order number
- tickets you're requesting to be exchanged
- preferred date and time for new tickets (check the program page for your show to see what's available)  
- approval for us to process $3 per ticket exchange fee to the card used for the original booking  

__Q. What are RISING's terms & conditions of sale?__

__Q. Why haven't I received my confirmation email?__  
A.	You may have entered your email address incorrectly at checkout, please [email us](mailto:ticketing@rising.melbourne) with any order information you have and the customer experience team will investigate for you.

__Q. I've been issued a ticket from someone other than RISING, is it legit?__  
A.	Some of our venues will also be issuing tickets for RISING events. The authorised ticket sellers for RISING are, Ticketek, Ticketmaster, OzTix, Arts Centre Melbourne, Melbourne Recital Centre, Melbourne Theatre Company and The Malthouse.

__Q. I can no longer attend my event because I have tested positive for COVID-19. What should I do?__  
A.	We continue to work hard to provide options for people who are unable to attend if they have COVID-19. Get in touch at least 2 hours before your session time, [email us](mailto:ticketing@rising.melbourne) with your order details and we will come back to you with a solution. Alternatively, you can list your ticket for sale via our resale partner, Tixel<link>

__Q. When will I get my ticket?__  
A. Digital tickets for all orders before the festival were sent by email in Late May. All orders since then receive digital tickets as soon as your order is complete. Individual barcodes for events will appear 48 hours prior to your booked session. We’ll send instructions to the email address you book with, so make sure it’s one you regularly check and can access on the go. If your tickets are lost to the depths of your inbox they can be reissued via our [digital tickets portal.](https://rising.melbourne/digital-tickets) 

__Q. Can I get a printed ticket posted to me?__  
A. As part of our sustainability practices, we don’t post tickets. Digital tickets replace our printed tickets and are made available 48 hours prior to your event. If you’re unable to access digital tickets, you can contact our customer service team via [email](mailto:ticketing@rising.melbourne) or phone (03) 9662 4242

__Q. Do I qualify for a concession or discounted ticket price?__  
A. If you hold any of the following, you’re eligible for a concession priced ticket. Please come prepared to show your proof of concession with your ticket at the venue.
- Full-Time Students (incl. international students)

__Q. Can I book in person?__   
A. Our RISING box office and shop is located at Night Trade in the Capitol Arcade for 2024. It's open Thursday - Friday 5PM-9.30PM and 12PM-9PM on weekends. Outside of those times, you can live chat with us from the website or send us an email at ticketing@rising.melbourne   

__Q. Who won the 2024 RISING Audience Survey Prize?__   
The prize was drawn on 18 June 2024 at the RISING offices in accordance with the competition Terms and Conditions. The prize winner is E. Molloy.


Ticketing

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

ACMI is accessible via train, tram and bus.

The museum is located in Fed Square, which is opposite Flinders Street train station, and sits within Melbourne’s Free Tram Zone.

If your journey starts or finishes outside the boundaries of the Free Tram Zone, you must touch on your myki at the reader to make sure you have a valid ticket.

BICYCLES

If you plan to cycle to ACMI, you can lock your bike to purpose-built bicycle racks installed around the perimeter of Fed Square, but you’ll need to bring your own lock. You can’t bring your bike into ACMI itself.

PARKING

Wilson Parking is available Flinders Gate Car Park, 172-192 Flinders Street (20m from venue) or at Fed Square Rooftop, Russell Street (240m from venue). ACCESSIBLE ENTRY

ACMI has two entrances: one on Flinders Street, and the other in Fed Square.

The Flinders Street entrance is easily accessible via a wheelchair ramp. This entrance is closed outside museum opening times. To access ACMI outside these hours, enter via the Fed Square Entrance.

The Fed Square entrance is located in the heart of Fed Square plaza, between Chocolate Buddha and Beer Deluxe. Please be aware that the Fed Square plaza is cobblestoned and may be difficult to navigate for visitors using mobility aids.

To get to the Fed Square entrance from the Flinders Street entrance, you can use the lifts near the end of The Atrium – to the left of Beer Deluxe – to get to the Fed Square plaza level.

LIFTS

A series of lifts (or elevators) offer access to all levels of ACMI.

- __Ground floor – Level 1 access only.__ The Ground floor lift is located between Tickets & Information desk and the entrance to The Story of the Moving Image exhibition.
- __Ground – Level 1 & 2 access.__ This Ground Floor lift is located behind the stairs opposite the bathrooms. You can access it by continuing down the corridor between Tickets & Information desk and the entrance to The Story of the Moving Image exhibition. This lift grants you access to levels 1 and 2.
- __Ground floor – Basement Gallery 4 access.__ A goods lift that allows access to the Underground Gallery 4 is located behind Gallery 2 and 4, via a corridor. Only in use when an exhibition is on view in Gallery 4.
- __Level 1 – Cinemas access.__ here are two lifts located on Level 1. As you enter from Fed Square, one is around the corner on your right, as you pass the Tickets & Information desk and approach the stairs. If you make a hard right towards Hero at ACMI and the Level 1 toilets, you will see the lift. This is the best lift option to reach the Cinemas level (Level 2).
- __Level 1 – Galleries access.__ As you enter from Fed Square, walk past the wall of screens and seating area in front of the wall of cabinets on your left, the lift is located opposite the seating area. This lift provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level. 
- __Level 2 – Level 1 access.__ The Level 2 Lift services the cinemas. It goes down to Level 1, where you will find the restaurant and bar, Hero at ACMI; and the Labs Level. This lift also provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS

Toilets are located on Ground floor and Level 1. ACMI has wheelchair accessible toilets on both floors.

Baby change facilities are available near the toilets at the Flinders St (Ground floor) and Fed Square (Level 1) entrances.

COMPANION CARDS

Companion Cards, registered in Victoria and interstate, provide the carers accompanying card holders with free access to ACMI programs.

WHEELCHAIRS

If you use a wheelchair you can access all of their spaces.

If you need to borrow a wheelchair for use inside the Museum, present your ID at the Tickets & Information Desk (located at Ground floor and Level 1 respectively) and we’ll organise one for you free of charge.

GUIDE DOGS

Guide Dogs and registered assistance animals are welcome throughout ACMI. But only registered animals. No pets, please!

HEARING LOOPS

Free hearing devices are available for use in the ACMI Cinemas and Studios and can be borrowed on presentation of ID. Visit the Tickets & Information desks on Level 1 or Ground Floor to arrange. 

The devices come with headphones or connect with hearing aids via a neck loop. You can choose what you prefer.

MOBILITY EQUIPMENT HIRE

Travellers Aid, based at Flinders Street and Southern Cross stations, provides mobility equipment hire, including manual wheelchairs and motorised scooters.

To hire equipment, visit the Travellers Aid website or call 03 9068 8187.

Pre-booked equipment can be collected at Flinders Street station (across the road from Fed Square) or Southern Cross station.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

ACMI is accessible via train, tram and bus.

The museum is located in Fed Square, which is opposite Flinders Street train station, and sits within Melbourne’s Free Tram Zone.

ACCESSIBLE ENTRY

ACMI has two entrances: one on Flinders Street, and the other in Fed Square.

The Flinders Street entrance is easily accessible via a wheelchair ramp. This entrance is closed outside museum opening times. To access ACMI outside these hours, enter via the Fed Square Entrance.

The Fed Square entrance is located in the heart of Fed Square plaza, between Chocolate Buddha and Beer Deluxe. Please be aware that the Fed Square plaza is cobblestoned and may be difficult to navigate for visitors using mobility aids.

To get to the Fed Square entrance from the Flinders Street entrance, you can use the lifts near the end of The Atrium – to the left of Beer Deluxe – to get to the Fed Square plaza level.

LIFTS

A series of lifts (or elevators) offer access to all levels of ACMI.

- __Ground floor – Level 1 access only.__ The Ground floor lift is located between Tickets & Information desk and the entrance to The Story of the Moving Image exhibition.
- __Ground – Level 1 & 2 access.__ This Ground Floor lift is located behind the stairs opposite the bathrooms. You can access it by continuing down the corridor between Tickets & Information desk and the entrance to The Story of the Moving Image exhibition. This lift grants you access to levels 1 and 2.
- __Ground floor – Basement Gallery 4 access.__ A goods lift that allows access to the Underground Gallery 4 is located behind Gallery 2 and 4, via a corridor. Only in use when an exhibition is on view in Gallery 4.
- __Level 1 – Cinemas access.__ here are two lifts located on Level 1. As you enter from Fed Square, one is around the corner on your right, as you pass the Tickets & Information desk and approach the stairs. If you make a hard right towards Hero at ACMI and the Level 1 toilets, you will see the lift. This is the best lift option to reach the Cinemas level (Level 2).
- __Level 1 – Galleries access.__ As you enter from Fed Square, walk past the wall of screens and seating area in front of the wall of cabinets on your left, the lift is located opposite the seating area. This lift provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level. 
- __Level 2 – Level 1 access.__ The Level 2 Lift services the cinemas. It goes down to Level 1, where you will find the restaurant and bar, Hero at ACMI; and the Labs Level. This lift also provides access to Ground floor, the Galleries level.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS

Toilets are located on Ground floor and Level 1. ACMI has wheelchair accessible toilets on both floors.

Baby change facilities are available near the toilets at the Flinders St (Ground floor) and Fed Square (Level 1) entrances.

COMPANION CARDS

Companion Cards, registered in Victoria and interstate, provide the carers accompanying card holders with free access to ACMI programs.

WHEELCHAIRS

If you use a wheelchair you can access all of their spaces.

If you need to borrow a wheelchair for use inside the Museum, present your ID at the Tickets & Information Desk (located at Ground floor and Level 1 respectively) and we’ll organise one for you free of charge.

GUIDE DOGS

Guide Dogs and registered assistance animals are welcome throughout ACMI. But only registered animals. No pets, please!

HEARING LOOPS

Free hearing devices are available for use in the ACMI Cinemas and Studios and can be borrowed on presentation of ID. Visit the Tickets & Information desks on Level 1 or Ground Floor to arrange. 

The devices come with headphones or connect with hearing aids via a neck loop. You can choose what you prefer.

MOBILITY EQUIPMENT HIRE

Travellers Aid, based at Flinders Street and Southern Cross stations, provides mobility equipment hire, including manual wheelchairs and motorised scooters.

ALPHA60 Chapter House

Located on the northern bank of the Yarra River between Federation Square and Melbourne Park, Birrarung Marr features a range of native flora and sculpted terraces. It is also the location for the children's arts centre, ArtPlay, and provides space for many events held throughout the year.
In Woi Wurrung and Boon Wurrung culture, 'Birrarung' is the traditional name of the Yarra River; and 'marr' refers to the mist that sometimes settles over the Birrarung. The park name reflects the ‘river of mists'.

This area was historically used for railway lines and yards from 1856. In 1992, the Victorian Government undertook a process of reorganisation of land uses around the then proposed Federation Square. This led to the reclamation of the former railyard to allow access to the river and land for public open space purposes. 

Construction of the park began in 2000 and was a joint venture between the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government. Birrarung Marr was opened in 2002. 

The park hosts a variety of native flora, sculpted terraces, pedestrian and bicycle paths and is used for numerous festivals and events throughout the year. 

The former rail use continues to be represented by the adaptation of the former Princes Bridge Lecture Room (a purpose-built railway training building constructed in 1916-17) into ArtPlay, a children’s art centre and gallery. 

At the east end of the park, the William Barak pedestrian bridge leads directly to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and the Tanderrum Bridge leads directly to the Melbourne Park tennis centre.

WALKING

Birrarung Marr is an approximately 7 minute walk (600m) from Flinders Street Station, via Princes Walk and Flinder Walk, and a 10 minute walk (850m) from the MCG. THE MAIN SQUARE  

The undulating surface of the Main Square is made up of sandstone cobblestones, with a marked access path. Swanston Street offers the best access to the Main Square, and lift access is available to and from The Atrium. The Big Screen is equipped with a hearing loop and there are accessible toilets located next to Time Out Café. The Main Stage has lift access for performers, and St Paul’s Court, Swanston Street Forecourt and The Amphitheatre also have wheelchair access.

There are accessible public toilets and baby-change facilities located in the Main Square, next to Time Out Cafe and in The Atrium, next to IceBar.

Accessible bathrooms are located near the side of stage area, which is available for wheelchair users to view the performance. Ramps can be provided to access side of stage. Staff are in attendance to assist.  

A gender neutral and fully accessible toilet is located on the left of the main entrance foyer (facing the stage). Just follow the signs to the Manager’s Office. It can also be accessed from the main room through the wooden door at the back of the room. This is located to the left of the entrance to female toilets.

ACCESSIBLE DROP OFF  

The best spot for drop off and pick-ups is either on Russell Street next to Culture Kings (30m from the Forum entry) or on the Russell Street extension next to the Ian Potter Centre (approximately 80m across Flinders Street).  

PUBLIC TRANSPORT  

Nearest accessible train station: Flinders Street Station is approximately 250m from The Forum. All metro lines leave from this station.  

Nearest accessible tram stop: The closest tram stop is Russell Street – Stop 6 which is on the Route 70, 75 or City Circle lines. This stop is a level access stop.  

ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE  

There is a wheelchair accessible entrance at the Box Office to the right of the main entrance via a small ramp into the foyer. Please speak to a staff member if you need assistance.  

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS  

Accessible bathrooms are located near the side of stage area, which is available for wheelchair users to view the performance. Ramps can be provided to access side of stage. Staff are in attendance to assist.  

A gender neutral and fully accessible toilet is located on the left of the main entrance foyer (facing the stage). Just follow the signs to the Manager’s Office. It can also be accessed from the main room through the wooden door at the back of the room. This is located to the left of the entrance to female toilets.  

SUPPORT ANIMALS AND GUIDE DOGS  

Support and assistance animals are welcome at The Forum. Please contact The Forum Box Office (03) 9299 9800 prior to the show so entry and a reserved space for you can be arranged.  

Please be aware that the venue is a noisy and busy environment, so you may want to consider the use of an alternative aid when attending a show.  

LIGHTING  

There is low lighting in the venue as needed for shows. All walkways are clearly marked, however if you have low vision and need assistance, please let staff know—they will be happy to help.

Depending on the show The Forum has multiple viewing areas available for wheelchair users in the main room. Access to both areas is via a ramp from the foyer.

PHYSICAL ACCESS 

All levels of Hamer Hall are accessible via lifts and escalators.

Removable seats/spaces for wheelchair or scooter users are available on all levels of Hamer Hall, along with companion seating. To book, call the MSO Box Office on (03) 9929 9600. Other accessible seating options are also available, including seats situated on aisles, without stairs, close to entry points, or with moveable arm rests.

Walkers are not permitted to stay in the hall during performances, but can be used to access seats and then removed and minded by venue staff for the duration of the concert. Walkers can then be retrieved by staff upon request at interval and at the conclusion of the concert.

Complimentary loan wheelchairs can also be booked to assist with travel throughout the building, including to and from the Arts Centre Melbourne/NGV car park. Please call the Arts Centre Melbourne Contact Centre on 1300 182 183 for assistance with loaning a wheelchair.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE

The Comedy Theatre can provide a ramp into one of the front doors on Exhibition Street. A member of our security or front of house staff will be able to assist you on arrival at the theatre. At the doors facing on to Exhibition Street there is a small step, which as you move away from Lonsdale Street is reduced to a small lip. Doors are usually propped open during performances. The entrance opens directly into the foyer, which is small and can become quite congested.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS

There are accessible toilets located on all foyer levels and backstage areas of the Centre. Please ask our venue staff for assistance in locating the one nearest to your seating or working location. 

EASY ACCESS SEATING AND WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

For the convenience of patrons who have restricted mobility but do not require the use of a wheelchair, Melbourne Recital Centre has identified locations within the auditorium where patrons do not need to use stairs to reach their seats. These seats are located in row U of the Stalls, row A of the Circle, and seats 11-15 of both upper wings. Accessible seating in the wings are also wider and have articulated, raising arm-rests.

Wheelchair accessible spaces are located in Stalls Row U and the Upper East Wing, all with Companion seating available. All seating and wheelchair spaces can be booked through all MRC sales channels, including through the MRC website.

LIFTS AND ESCALATORS 

Lift access is available to all foyer levels of the building and all backstage areas (except the Orchestra Pit). Escalator access is also available between Ground Level and foyer Level 1.

The Toff is located on level 2 of the Curtain House. There is an elevator and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible.

Union Theatre is located in the Arts & Cultural Building within the University of Melbourne's Parkville campus.

ACCESSIBLE BATHROOM   

Toilets are located on all four floors of teh Arts and Cultural Building. Accessible bathrroms are available on all levels. All-gender bathrooms can be found on Levels 2 and 3. 

Baby change facilities are available at the Ground Level bathrooms.  

ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE

There are two main entrance points to the Arts and Cultural Building from Swanston St – either walk down Monash Road (Gate 4) or enter via the Amphitheatre closer to Grattan St (Gate 6).  

The Union Theatre and the Guild Theatre are both on Level 2. The Venue Management and Union House Theatre offices can be found on Level 3. 

PARKING

The closest car park is the Eastern Precinct Car Park at 375 Cardigan Street, Carlton, near the corner of Elgin Street. __Hours:__ Monday to Sunday, 6am to midnight. 

__Fees:__ On weekdays, $12.50 for 4 hours, $25 for all day and $10 after 5pm, weekends and public holidays.  

__Payment:__ Scan your debit or credit card to enter the carpark. Upon exit, the boom gate will indicate the amount owing and pay with your debit or credit card at the gate. You cannot pay with cash at this location.

__Hours:__ Monday to Thursday, 5am to midnight, Friday to Saturday, 5am to 1am, Sunday 6am to 10pm.

__Fees:__ On weekdays, $20 for 3+ hours or all day and $10 on weekends.
